Happy Holidays from CleanBnB

This year, decidedly anomalous and challenging, our Happy Holidays wishes are particularly heartfelt. In these days of the end of the year, frenetic and chaotic as usual, let's try to put some order, retracing what for CleanBnB were the salient moments of a year that we never expected to experience, but which we faced with a deep sense of responsibility, each of us doing our part to the fullest. In March 2020, Italian tourism found itself facing a sudden storm that involved not only the travel and transport industry, but also the hospitality and hospitality sectors, with important repercussions on all related industries and the local economy. All the staff and collaborators of CleanBnB have never stopped, always lavishing their utmost efforts to manage the emergency that hit us at the end of February. Our first thought of gratitude goes to them. Right from the start, CleanBnB has faced the reduction in the flow of guests, without losing the awareness that in the complexity of the moment we have been called to give a great proof of maturity. We immediately looked beyond the negative historical moment to be ready to intercept and recover all the lost flows as soon as possible. We have activated numerous new channels to intercept booking flows even for longer periods and we have worked to optimize operational efficiency at every level. In the most difficult moments of the health emergency, we wondered how to help the country and with great pride we took part, together with other Property Managers, in the State a Casa Nostra initiative, making managed homes available free of charge throughout Italy for the health personnel looking for accommodation throughout the national territory. The project has been of help to numerous healthcare workers located in the areas most affected by the pandemic and has allowed us to lend a hand to the country through our short-term lease management activity. We have reached the end of May, tried but active, and we have welcomed the end of the lockdown with great enthusiasm, a moment destined to become historic for our country which has experienced a restrictive measure considered among the strictest in the world. A new normality has been slowly regained allowing us to experience a slightly more serene summer. Our apartments sanitized according to the strictest protocols have seen the return of guests and have been considered by Italians a safe and heartening place to stay. The relaunch of the sector took place through proximity tourism which allowed citizens to enjoy a well-deserved holiday and to rediscover the sometimes forgotten wonderful tourist resorts of the Peninsula. In the months of July and August, the apartments managed by CleanBnB demonstrated an excellent recovery both in search interest and in conversion into bookings, especially in purely tourist locations and the number of nights booked was overall in line with the data for the same period of the 'last year. This goal rewarded us for the many efforts made. As in any moment of transition or change, the strongest operators have shown that they know how to look ahead. It is with this in mind that, in the midst of a second pandemic wave that was in some ways more insidious than the first, in November 2020 CleanBnB signed an agreement with another property manager for the acquisition of a portfolio of management contracts stipulated with property owners in the localities of Milan, Florence and Rome. We are confident that the resilience, the growing leadership on a market that is still structurally expanding and the foresight shown will reward our Company and all those who have remained by our side in this delicate year. Our heartfelt thanks go to the owners and investors who have not given in to the pressure of a situation which unfortunately has not yet been definitively resolved and who have decided to hold on, united by the awareness that the world will soon return to being a place within reach hand. The regular recovery of travel that will take place post-pandemic will lead more and more guests to opt for short-term rentals and we are confident that the new year will mark a clear turnaround and will herald income opportunities for all our Hosts. With the hope that humanity will soon see the brightest light again after this long tunnel, we offer our most sincere and heartfelt wishes for a Happy Holiday Season.
