Milan tourism: the impressive figures of the tourist flow
Milan is a great Milan, recites an old Milanese song from the 30s and never before has the old adage seemed right as in this period.
To act as a flywheel a city in constant growth there is undoubtedly the voice of the system Milan tourism, with staggering figures that place the Lombard capital at the top of the Italian ranking of the most visited cities and with the highest revenues.

These are the numbers recorded by the Milan tourism system, with visitors from all over the world and of all ages.
The identikit of the Milanese tourist, if you look at the attendance data, is that of the business man between the ages of 31 and 45 who comes to the city for the numerous events that take place throughout the year, from the furniture fair to the fashion week. Almost three and a half million tourists fall into this category.
More and more young visitors, according to the data released by the Municipality of Milan, with a range including tbetween 19 and 30 years old which registers more than two million visitors, confirming the charm of the Milan tourism system even among the very young, attracted by the concerts and events that fill the Milanese calendar practically 365 days a year.
Not only young people and businessmen, however, because there are also tourists who arrive in Milan family groups (as many as 3.4 million visitors according to Palazzo Marino) who come to enjoy the beauty of the city, the countless possibilities it offers in terms of food and the historical and artistic heritage of the museums and palaces, with Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper to make it as master.

Ranking in which Rome still leads with 29 companies that are fully dedicated to travel and welcoming guests.
Another very interesting figure is that linked to the employees of the tourism sector in Milan.
In fact, the entire supply chain employs as many as 120 workers, doubled in the last ten years especially in hotels and restaurants, testifying to how strong the desire to improve structures is in the city, making them increasingly welcoming and meeting the needs of visitors.
A city that travels quickly towards national supremacy.
The mission that all the professionals in the Milanese tourism sector have given themselves is to make Milan the city with the most tourist presences within ten years.
A challenge which, given the assumptions, the numbers of recent years and the upcoming 2026 Olympics that the city will host together with Cortina, has all the credentials to be won.
A challenge that will see the Milan tourism system engaged at all levels to tell the story of the city beyond the Duomo, the Last Supper and the most famous destinations, beyond the fairs and events it hosts, not relegating arrivals only to the business world but giving tourists a lively and hospitable city, with an integrated system that supports tourists and pampers them from arrival to departure.
